ARRIVE at International Airport ‘Augusto César Sandino’ in Managua, the capital, 34 kms. from the city of Nindiri. (Arrangements can be made for our driver to pick you from/to the airport)
WHERE YOU WILL BE STAYING: Our home in the city of Nindiri (within walking distance to the stadium, pizza/pupusa/taco restaurants, pharmacy/doctor) is very secure. 
Surrounded by gardens, a wall with electric wires around the property, is illuminated by solar/sensor lamp at the entrance. One enters a garden with cocoa, lemon, sour orange trees, full of plants and flowers, towards an entrance hall;![]()

House has a living/dining area; through four sliding wood/glass doors you walk to a terrace with two hammocks, a full-size bathroom. The backyard, is full of plants, flowers, and a bean shaped pool.
Wake up in a safe, peaceful ambiance surrounded by plants and flowers, enjoy a juice/fruit in the calm relaxing pool, under a gorgeous blue sky
have a nutritious breakfast and get ready to enjoy what Nicaragua has to offer. 5.5-6.5 deep pool

House is very well ventilated, lots of windows, doors to terrace, to gardens.
Each rented bedroom with private bath, has a full size bed, night tables, dresser with mirror, closet with hangers, 32” TV, ceiling fan; windows and door have moskito screen, therefore, keep door closed.
We have Wi-Fi.
A person in charge of preparing breakfast, maintaining pool, gardens.
Nothing better than to sit on the terrace, enjoy the garden, birds taking a bath in the bird bath or a dip in the pool! They love it!

WHAT DOES NINDIRI OFFER:

Enjoy the country staying in the peaceful, friendly and small/safe city of NINDIRI, with the flare and charm of a town, where one can walk to the bank, Museum with indian artifacts, Baseball Stadium, Dinosaur & Central parks, restaurants, plaza, Church with beautiful colonial architecture, pharmacy, doctor.
Or use the services of a ‘Caponera’, a guy driving a tricycle who can take you anywhere you wish in the city, if you do not feel like walking. Or take a tour of the city.
Nindiri is a city where one can safely walk around. There are restaurants within walking distance.

WEATHER: It is hot and fabulous. There are 2 seasons:
Summer is from November to April (32C) the hottest being during Holy Week – March-April. Winter is from May to October (26C) It is the rainy season and the country is luscious green
WHAT TO WEAR: Cotton clothes, swimming gear, shorts, pants, sandals, running shoes, mosquito repellent and the willingness to enjoy life.
CURRENCY: Is Cordoba. Suggest to take your money only in US Dollars, which one can exchange at a bank/restaurant/super market. Accepted as readily as Cordobas or Credit Card.
WHAT CAN I PURCHASE IN NICARAGUA: Great artisan works, gold jewellery, cotton clothes, hand made shoes, leather articles, pottery, hammocks, salad bowls, tapestry, rugs, rum, Nicaraguan wine, coffee, excellent quality hand made cigars, pewter, paintings, etc.
PLACES TO VISIT: (I can arrange for our driver to pick you to/from the airport; drive you to any destination you would like to visit during your stay.)
MASAYA – We are close to MASAYA, (a 10 minute drive) the heart and birthplace of Nicaraguan folklore and music with its beautiful Artisans Market where one can purchase clothes, leather bags, shoes, belts, paintings, etc. all hand made products.
VOLCAN MASAYA – The area is covered by lava, burst by Volcan Santiago several hundred years ago. Volcan Masaya is an active volcano which fumes sulfuric gases. A spectacle worth visiting.
MASAYA LAGOON – very close to Nindiri, a restaurant with view to the lagoon just across from supermarket Pali; enjoy a drink, something to eat.
WHITE TOWNS: From Nindiri one can drive to the scenic towns of Diria, Diriomo, Niquinohomo, famous for its beautiful clay pottery artisans or enjoy delicious food.
APOYO LAGOON: Formed in the cone of an extinct volcano, with beaches, Kayak renting, delicious food and drinks.
GRANADA – The colonial city of Granada, visit the old Railroad Station, Church La Merced where one can go up the tower and enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the city, take photos; City Hall, the Cathedral, Casa de los Tres Mundos, Church of San Francisco and its Convent with a museum and a visit to the famous Idols of Isla Zapatera. Ride a coche, a horsedrawn carriage from Central Park.
Visit the Isletas in Lake Cocibolca. Rent a boat and take a tour of the islands, have lunch in one of the restaurants in the lake, enjoy a ‘Guapote’, a native fish from the lake. These islands are visited by thousands of migrating birds, great for birdwatching, fishing, canoeing and the species of animals and plants that call home the fabulous ecosystem that is the lake.
VOLCAN MOMBACHO: Excellent for tours to coffee plantations, canopy, bird watching. Beautiful view of the islands from the top of Volcan Mombacho, 1,345 meters above sea level. Has more than 800 varieties of orchids.
SAN JUAN del SUR: on the southern part of Nicaragua one can spend one/two days visiting this beach town where one can fancy its fresh delicious sea food, yummy cocktails, swim in the Pacific Ocean, walk on its beach. (If one decides to spend the night there, Colibri House is run by friends).
THE ZOO – to view the different species of animals, birds, in this region.
MANAGUA – the capital, visit the National Theatre Ruben Dario, borders of Lake Xolotlan, enjoy its restaurants, tour around the lake.
LEON – The cultural city of Nicaragua, with an impressive Cathedral, beautiful architecture, museums, restaurants and some of the best beaches in the Pacific, Poneloya/Las Penitas
… Nicaragua is the limit of the northern hemisphere: e.i. the sable tiger, the mamuth and the bison came down here from the north, and it is here where you still find the Guatemalan quetzal and the northern pine (Yucul)
Before the Spaniards came to America, Nicaragua was inhabited by different native (Indian) ethnic groups, such as Chorotegas and Nahoas (Nicaraguas) from Mexico; by Maribios (Subtiavas) who came by sea from California; by Matagalpas, Misquitos, Sumos and Ramas, who came from the south (Chibchas) and each tribe with a fascinating history…
